North Austin Suburb Spotlights - Round Rock, Pflugerville and Cedar Park

If you are looking for reprieve from the hustle and bustle of city life, these north Austin suburbs could be right for you. Williamson county is comprised of three major suburbs: Round Rock Pflugerville and Cedar Park.


Round Rock:  

Located just 30 min north of Austin, Round Rock is the ideal place for a varied selection of housing options. From smaller new homes to custom mansions, Round Rock has it all.

Growth has been moving northward for quite some time and developers are taking notice. There are multiple new communities where you can build, a plethora of new dining and parks and outdoor spaces. Round Rock is a vibrant community that will only continue to grow. Another bonus of buying a home in Round rock is their strong public educations system:  According to the 2008 ratings from the Texas Education Agency, the Round Rock Independent School District (RRISD) ranks among the best in the state. Of 42 schools within it, 12 were rated exemplary and 11 are recognized.

Forbes has also named Round Rock the No. 1 best city in America for Jobs. Round Rock is known as the international headquarters for Dell Technologies along with countless other employers. Retailers such as IKEA and the Premium outlet mall also provide easy access to excellent shopping.

Pflugerville: 
Located Northeast of downtown and south east of Round Rock, it was originally settled by German immigrants. Most homes were built in 2009 or later and offer affordable prices for more square footage. There are numerous recreational activities available including, Heritage Park and Lake Pflugerville which has numerous trails and a 180-acre reservoir. Pflugerville also has access to many amenities in Austin, without the Austin real estate prices. The Domain and Round Rock Amenities are located about 10 miles away.

As in many parts of the Austin area, Pflugerville has experienced a lot of growth in the last years. It is an ideal place to look for a home in you are working in North Austin tech ridge as commute time is minimal.

Cedar Park: 

Cedar Park offers many large Many new master-planned communities with amenities such as such as pools, hike and bike trails, event centers, and community playgrounds. There are also older, established communities that offer mature trees and larger lots.

With high tech employers like Dell, Samsung and Apple located within close proximity, many buyers find living in Cedar Park a preference over downtown Austin. Cedar Park offers many modern conveniences of a larger city. Cedar Park Event Center provides an extensive calendar of sporting and music events. Minor league baseball team, the Round Rock Express is also a great outing for the whole family. Located at the Dell Diamond in the neighboring community of Round Rock, this fun adventure is just a short drive away. Cedar Park also offers outstanding schools and diverse activities for all ages.
